Tell Me…

First of all, thank you, thank you, thank you. I am exactly four months into writing my blog and I am very happy people are actually interested in it. In the beginning, I had doubts. I knew my sister would read it and maybe a few friends…my crew always comes in with the support, but as I look through the analytics, I see people from all over the world stop by to give it a read and I am stoked.

My follow count is on the rise slow but steady and I appreciate all of you. The fact that other bloggers are tuning in makes me feel I am going in the right direction. Truth be told…I have no idea what I am doing. I found a site, made a page and just starting writing. As I sit down in front of the computer every time, I feel like I am home. Writing is in my DNA. I don’t know where it came from, but it is there, and I finally feel I am doing what I am meant to do in this crazy life.

I am wondering if I could ask for a couple of favors. Nothing big or dramatic, just a few things to help me along. If you subscribe to my blog, tell me what you liked and what you want to see. I have said this before and the answer I got was to just keep doing what I was doing. I appreciate that, it shows you like my writing style and the subjects I have talked about so far. My friend James gave me a couple of topics that I did use and gave him full credit for the subject matter that day. It was a little challenging and I liked it. You know my style of writing…it’s just like sitting down and having a conversation with me, so please let me know what you want to chat about. I would love to expand my topic log. The only thing off limits is politics. I decided long ago to not even deal with that subject matter. So, please, if you wanna hear my take on something, let me know in the comments.

Speaking of comments…I would totally dig it if more people stopped by to say Hi and leave a thought on any post they read. I have a few people that comment to each and every one and I thank you. I look forward to responding to each and every one of them. I wanted my blog to be a place where you grab your coffee (or your beverage of choice), give it a read and be part of the conversation. I know you don’t have the time to forever be on my blog; you have other things to do, but maybe if you have commented on something in the past go back and see what others are saying. Check back to see if other people besides me have liked your comment and responded to you. I love to see all my peeps mingle. And if you like what I write, please give the post a like by hitting the star. It helps me to get a feel for what people are into.

To all my visitors out there, I see you too. I mean, I don’t see who you are, but I see the number of visitors that hit the blog daily and I appreciate you. If you visit on a semi regular basis, because you hit the link whenever I post it on Facebook, Instagram, etc. please consider becoming a subscriber. Put your email in and the blog will come directly to you. Don’t worry, I am not using your email for anything else but this blog. I won’t be giving it to anyone else either…I am not into scam.

One more thing…I am thinking about adding another day. I started off with 2 days, then went to 3 when the holidays started, only because I had a lot to say about Christmas, LOL, but I realized I liked writing more. I usually sit down to write the post right before I publish it and I find myself missing it on the days when the blog doesn’t come out. I haven’t decided which day but be on the lookout for it.

Thanks again for reading. I am grateful you take the time. It makes me think of the Oscar speech Sally Field gave a long time ago. It’s been misquoted a lot, but she looked at the crowd and said, “You like me…” Thanks for liking me.

***Question for the comments…let me know what you think!!

Hi, I'm Tracie. I am a writer, reader, life coach, lover of the city and the beach. I am a big fan of all things caffeinated. I dig things from many different decades, but am a definite child of the 80's. My blog is about everything and anything my mind conjures up. Enjoy the ride.

  1. I, for one, do NOT like you…ok. That being said, I wanna see politics AND religion! 🤣 That wouldn’t be a problem. I, for one, am not opinionated in the least! ⚡I’ll think about it and get back to you during one of our marathon chats. ‘Cause you KNOW I’m gonna come up with stuff that you would consider completely inappropriate. 😉

      1. Religion is not good, at least not for me. And you know why. I cannot keep my opinion to myself and I promised you I won’t get into those arguments (even though we both know I’m right 😉)

  2. Congratulations on four wonderful months! I’m saying the same thing everyone else said, “Keep doing what you’re doing…it’s working”. What I like about it is that it’s always fun, an easy read and always entertaining. There’s always a little lesson in there as well and you have us reflect with your question at the end. I like that I don’t know what to expect. I love it when I see The Squiggle Line Cafe in my email, I’m like yes I can’t wait to open and read. It’s like opening up a present every time! You’re doing great Tracie, thanks for showing up!!

  4. Yes Tracie. I like you. I like your posts… I enjoy writing but wouldn’t want to be on a schedule to do it. So, when I have time, I know if I read one or several of your posts in one sitting, I’ll get a chance to get my creative juices flowing and compose some responses. Your writings are like prompts for me! I do wonder if you can discuss community or service projects sometime. I wonder what other people think about them or have done that was meaningful and enjoyable. That is my only idea at the moment 😬

  5. When one I follow has no current post, I’ll walk back through archives. Get to know folk that way and keeps them current in my mind. About comments – social sites, including WP simply must find a better way to allow no-comment communications. People are skeert to comment [heck, most don’t even read posts, just like-away which is misleading]. Maybe individual “saw ya,” “read ya,” “liked what I read,” “What the?” and “here’s my take” buttons.

Do I got suggestions for your work? Nah. I’m a newbie myself. Still trying to find my own way. Just keep at it, you doone guude.
