Merry Christmas!!!! The day has finally arrived. The apartment is still quiet, Neil is still asleep, but I wanted to jump on really quick with a short message for you. I hope you have a wonderful day filled with family, good food, friends and of course gifts. It really is the most wonderful time of the year and I hope you are able to enjoy it. I know a lot of people don’t celebrate like I do…so I wish you Season’s Greetings and Happy Holidays.
I have spent a lot of time this month talking about all my favorite fun Christmas things…movies, music, presents, food…and I enjoy them all to the fullest, but I never forget the best gift I ever received. That is the birth of Jesus. He came to earth as a baby just so he could grow up and sacrifice himself for us. I am not sure of your beliefs; it’s ok if they are different than mine, but this is what my faith is based on, it is what I believe 100%.
Luke 2:8-14 “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, an angel of the Lord shone round about them, and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manager. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
This is the true meaning of Christmas, it’s what this holiday was made for. I hope you have a blessed day and take some time to thank the man who gave us the best gift of them all.
***Question for the comments…How are you celebrating today? Is it a family day, a friend’s day, did you attend a church service? We had our candlelight service last night.
